Ms Valarie Lim, a Practising Chartered Secretary with over 20 years of experience, set up the Gateway 21 company in 1999.
Her work experience include a 6.5 year stint with Arthur Andersen, where she set up the Corporate Secretarial Department in 1986 and grew the business successfully.
She had two years' experience too, in 1995/1996, in Asiaciti Management Pte Ltd, which provides wealth management advisory.
From 1992 to 1993, she started up a local firm with an ex-colleague which has grown into a mid-sized firm.
She then kickstarted and headed Abogado Pte Ltd, which is the secretarial division of international law firm, Baker & McKenzie, from 1996 to 2000, whose clients are Fortune 500s and MNCs, bringing in millions of dollars for the secretarial practice.
Valarie is also a fellow member of the Singapore Association of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators ( SAICSA ) as well as a popular faciliator at SAICSA for the Fundamentals of Corporate Secretarial Practice course, covering topics such as Business Entities, Transfer and Transmission of shares, Directors' duties, Meetings, etc.
In addition, she had assisted ALEXIS in conducting corporate compliance courses for non-legal professionals in law firms.
